Background
Sammie Ray is an award-winning actress, singer-songwriter, and multidimensional storyteller known for her emotionally grounded performances and dynamic on-screen presence.
Born and raised in Pasadena, California, Sammie began performing at a young age, appearing in over 25 theatrical productions before the age of 18. With a strong foundation in performance and a deep passion for storytelling, she quickly transitioned into on-camera work—earning roles on acclaimed series such as This Is Us (NBC) and On My Block (Netflix).
In 2023, Sammie made a powerful impact with her autobiographical short film Savage Sam, which she wrote, produced, starred in, and scored. The film earned over a dozen awards on the festival circuit and has garnered more than 300,000 views online. She is currently expanding the project into her debut feature film.
In 2025, Sammie booked a standout role as Mariah in Season 5 of Tyler Perry’s Ruthless (BET+), further solidifying her presence in television. She has also built a strong footprint in the digital streaming space, starring in projects such as Secrets of Sin, My Sister’s Wedding, Straight A Pregnancy, and Love Me Two Times. Her original song “Dirty Little Secret,” featured in Secrets of Sin 2, is now available on all major platforms.
What's Next
Sammie Ray is set to make her feature film lead debut in A Sudden Family, a SAG production slated for release in 2026. Alongside her acting career, she continues to release bold, expressive music and develop original film and television projects through her production company, Soulful And Majestic Productions.
Beyond the screen, Sammie is deeply passionate about empowering others through faith, wellness, and creative strategy.
As a certified Pilates instructor and founder of Take40Five, she hosts monthly Praise Pilates classes—a worship-based sculpt experience—at Sweat Logic Pilates in Upland, California. Her classes create a powerful space where movement and faith intersect, and she teaches weekly HIIT Mat Pilates and Pilates Sculpt sessions.
Sammie also works as a booking strategist and coach for actors and models, helping talent elevate their materials, refine their branding, and implement strategic submission techniques that lead to more auditions and real booking opportunities. Through personalized coaching—both virtual and in-person—she equips performers with the tools, insight, and industry perspective needed to stand out.
Rooted in authenticity, faith, and transformation, Sammie’s work reflects a commitment to purpose-driven storytelling and impact. Whether on screen, in the studio, or guiding others in their journey, her mission remains the same: to create, inspire, and walk boldly in purpose.
